Today I had the pleasure of shooting a friend that I went to school with. Emma and I used to study biology together, and my memories of that well weren’t Biology, but eating creme camerels (yes that is spelt wrong that is how Em pronounced it!). The location that Em chose was where her horses are kept. As the saying goes never work with animals, and let me tell you children are a walk in the park compared to horses! We wanted to try and get them in the background of the photos, however mostly we could only get their butts in the frame, thats if they weren’t trying to sniff Emma’s head, eat the blanket or chew one of the girls dolls. I also had one who obviously likes the smell of Georgio as it was licking my back, sniffing down my shorts and pushing me along with its nose! Seems I had made a friend!! The girls got over it fairly quickly, even though it was an early start it was a very hot morning!! The humidity was a killer!!

A beautiful day for an arranged photo shoot of my friend and fellow photographer Lyndal She was nervous before hand, not sure why, not only am I not really that intimidating, but she was also a total natural in front of the camera. Such a great morning the kids all played in the sand while while we took these shots. A good play with the new LensBaby, which Lyndal and I both have, and she also let me use her 50mm (damn a good lens, I will need to save after Overseas for that!!) Arranged to do more in a few weeks, getting in as much as we can before Lyndal moves away to Orange….which will mean some trips away!!

A play at San’s house this morning. Her two boys are sooooo like her sister Jess, its amazing. Billy is just adorable and quietly plays while Lily and Christian run around mad. The tired signs kicked in after jumping, swinging, digging and riding. Infact I was tired from just watching all of the physical activity going on!!!

These weren’t taken today however, they were delivered today…my first Holga film. I love them. I love the contrast and the vignetting on these. And waiting for the film to be developed is an experience I havent had for AGES, so used to being able to see instantly your work!!

A new little lens so a little play this afternoon. This is on the highest aperture at 2.8. The weather changed on me so quickly that I didnt have enough time to play around for long

Out and about in Abbotsford, we were meant to have our photos here last year and as I am geographically challenged I got lost, Now I have a sat nav and off we went to find it. LOVE it here. Lily played for hours and I was able to sit and relax close by. A picnic and a splash then back in the car and we went to Balmain for ice cream. Lily told me on the way home “That was a beautiful day mummy” and then she crashed!

Everything is sooooo green now, its wonderful. I did miss a day…the first day Ive missed, Valentines day, but have got a few for other days so telling myself that makes up for it!! Enjoy!

DAY 48 BALLET LESSON NUMBER 2. IMMY AND LILY PRACTICING THEIR “GOOD” BALLET TOES

Friday, February 12, 2010
I have really enjoyed the last two days with basically nothing on. Lily and I have enjoyed each others company hanging out at home, painting, drawing, colouring in, baking, swinging and she had her first ever ballet lesson. I was rather impressed with the teacher who had the class of 5 three year old girls who were great for the first 15 minutes and then it was like a mad game of bull rush as the ran up and down the hall. And the baking, what a cake! Love it. It is from Poh’s Kitchen the Orange Chiffon Cake. Absolutely divine. Ive never seen lily eat a cake the way she did this one she scoffed it.

Yes I am still going. I am actually impressed with myself for lasting this long. A long way to go though. I did REALLY want to stick to my theme of people however, with the downpour of rain that seemed never ending and in staying home quite a bit, there was no people around to photograph. So here we have the last few days….enjoy….

A break in the rain and running to Nanni and Papa’s. Look at how green the grass is getting.

Looking up to the property that was the main homestead before all of the sub divisions. The owners who are friends, have just moved back from Perth…looking forward to catching up this week.

Today a wedding. Sydney not at its best, poring rain. The ceremony was at Cabarita where it bucketed and the wind was out of control. Lyndal and I were drenched and freezing, and not to mention starving…..so Lyndals solution…fat attack at macca’s, which was great. A lovely day for the Bride and Groom though who both looked stunning.

At her best friends Immy’s birthday party. Taking “A” photo a day to the extreme today and this being the only photo I actually took.

Out for a walk….it was about 5:30pm, the light at this time out here is amazing, Everything seems to be bursting back to life after all the rain.

These are my favourites from this lot. I was putting washing on when I heard Lily calling out to me “Im Hiding” I knew where she was and played it up a bit for her, although would have gotten to her quicker if I knew she was into the chocolate!!! Very cute moment. BUSTED missy!
On a raining afternoon, I was second shooter for Lyndal at an intimate Wedding between E and T. We met them at the Raddison Hotel in the city as they got ready and sent the sms to their guests for Plan B! Once ready E turned to her Hubby to be and said ” Well are you ready to get married?” The rain was intense, however the smiles on the faces of the happy couple remained, as they were so happy to be getting married today. A gorgeous location for the Ceremony at Cabarita and then the Boathouse restaurant at Glebe (which I think I will have to check out as the smell of the seafood cooking was bliss not to mention the views!) Congratulations guys hope that you have enjoyed your weekend before Mr T has to go back to work at the mines in WA.
