A yearly challenge I am embarking on for my fourth year. A photo from each day. Usually I start this in January, but I am starting early this year to try and challenge myself to last for 2 months rather than one. This year I want to push myself further and push boundaries and be creative. And try not to take photos of Lily EVERY day, although the photo a day results in a lovely set of photographs of our summer together. Hopefully by the end of January you will see my life’s passions as a mother, a daughter, a photographer, an excellent home cook ( yes I dream to be on masterchef…and of course win) and lover of the summer time. I hope you enjoy the snippets from my summer.

Day 35: At our friends for swimming in the (finally) warm weather

Day 36: At Camden Pools. I am embarking on an “US” theme soon, to include myself in more photos, this one seemed like a good start!

Day 37: Our dinner out of Donna Hay’s new cookbook. I havent cooked anything I havent liked of hers. And Lily’s response was “This is the best dinner EVER”

Day 38: In the Botanical Gardens after seeing Wind in the Willows, which was amazing, both for kids and parents. I thoroughly enjoyed it, was a warm day which needed hydrating!!!

Day 23: My little girl all grown up I cant believe how grown up she looks here!

Day 24: Christmas Eve, out with Bek

Day 25: Christmas Day. Lily’s sheer excitement at her new cubby. ” This is amazing” she said.

Day 26: Boxing Day and straight to the pools. Lily wearing her new towel poncho she was given from Bek.

Day 27: At the CVI with friends and Lily’s friend arrived, who she hasn’t seen in AGES, which made her day.

Day 28: With her new bike from Nanni and Papa on the Camden Bike Track. I can’t believe how far she was able to ride! I have many memories growing up on this bike track as we lived so close to it, many walks, our cross country for primary school was there, roller blading home with Bek and stacking it so hard she left me there and went to get help!! Hence why I held onto the bike going down the hills. Her very good riding skills has given me incentive to either start jogging next to her OR purchase myself a bike.

Day 29: City Sales with my friend Sara. The shoe department in David Jones Lily was in heaven as is majority of the female population, however her joy was equally matched by this little girl who quickly joined Lily trying on all the sprakly shoes they could fine. Was sure to keep an eye on that she wasn’t trying on the sparkly Jimmy Choo’s. And as I promised her a visit to the park before going home.

Day 30: Time to get to work before a weekend off!!

Day 31 AND 32: Happy New Year. A fantastic night spent just how New Years Eve should be, with your close friends having a great time.nOur feet are still recovering which is the sign of a good night spent on the dance floor.

Day 33: Summer time is here. FINALLY. Camden Pools are SO much fun.

Day 9: Enjoying a little spot of sun

Day 10: Another Rainy Day and inside playing board games.

Day 11 : At Macarthur Park, Camden. A play in the very humid heat before the storms hit for the entire afternoon.

Day 12: At Nanni’s House for Nanni Monday.

Day 13 : Practicing Bokeh techniques with christmas lights.

Day 14: Face Painting at Pre School

Day 15: Boxing…..my new favourite form of exercise…the best stress relief

Day 16: Living back in town now we miss the daily passing of horses. Lily LOVES horses.

Day 17 : In the bathy whilst I fold up washing. Thought it was cute the way she sits watching and talking to me out the door. I must teach her to lay down and relax in the bath!

Day 18 : Today I had 2 newborn shoots…this one from my friend Jodie’s shoot

Day 19 : Agapanthus Gigantus….no one grow Aggies like my Mum and Dad…these stand taller than me.

Day 20 : Under the tree slowly filling up

Day 21 : Presents from London

Day 22 : More rain. But we went outside anyhow. Lily thought jumping in the puddles was fun to begin with…

But the look on her face after this big jump I dont think she is having fun anymore….

Day One: Lily

I know I know I said not as many of her. HOWEVER. I had wanted to play around with my Lensbaby which I haven’t used FOREVER. I want to take some shots with it on the wedding I have on the weekend. So a quick little shoot out the back and then out the front. Which then resulted in my camera dying. This showed me that technology as great as it is, is not fail safe!!! I had thought Id lost these shots, so the fact they are here I had to use them. Getting re-aquainted with the lensbaby was great. Its quite hit and miss but when you hit and get the focus right I find it quite pleasing.

Day 2: On my way to pick up the new camera, 4.5 hours later brand spanking new 5D mark 2.

Day 3: Bek and I at Ria and Pete’s Wedding. A gorgeous day and So much fun.

Day 4: And she sleeps…..

Day 5: I have a headcold….waoooo ooooo

Day 6: Random French guy selling art at my door.

Day 7: A break in the rain. Has not been the ideal start to summer this year.

Day 8: Like Mother Like Daughter. I have taught her the shoes make the outfit. She LOVES shoes. She LOVES my shoes.

What a month. It started out waiting for my sister Elly at the airport early in the morning. And from that minute on….its been FULL ON. I haven’t seen my sister since our EPIC trip overseas last easter. Elly brought her boyfriend Marc along, who I think in his short 2 weeks saw SO much. Sydney, Bowral, Blue Mountains….and so lucky whilst here he was able to experience the wildlife we have to offer here in Australia, a wallaby and yes on one of those freaky hot August days, a nice sized black snake!! Many lunches out, many dinners cooked, Marc I think has gone home understanding that our family seems to revolve around food. We had a wonderful day out at one of my parents best friends for a BBQ with their gang and their kids, where I sang all the words to Elton John and Paul Kelly, and you know what….I enjoyed it too. A brief trip to see our grandparents and also our aunty and uncle who we haven’t seen in for a very long time. We got to spend both of our birthdays together which was special and yesterday we did the bridge climb together, both of us nervous, but really enjoyed it.

Elly it has been wonderful spending time with you….it went way too fast. We all love you very much and enjoyed having your smile and your now half pommy accent for the past month. Lily just loved every second she had with you. My heart hurts today knowing you leave tomorrow. Hope its not too long before I get to see you again. Love you little sis….MWAH.xx

Happy Birthday To Me…….

Today I had a wonderful day with my family…all of them! Elly is home for a bit, it was so brilliant (the word of the day) to be able to celebrate with her and her boyfriend Marc….who Lily just thinks is great! Out in my favourite town…Bowral.

Today I took Lily to the art gallery in Campbelltown. The works on display weren’t our cup of tea, and after she has been to the Louvre and the Tate, she wasn’t interested in the offering there. However, she did LOVE the Japanese Gardens and the sculpture garden. She ran around the sculpture’s and involved herself with them, walking up the stream of water, trying to get into the car, and sitting on top of the strange looking animal carved from stone. A brilliant lunch at the cafe, this is a place I think we will be visiting often.

Today Highlife Bride hit the stores donning my gorgeous wedding couple Jaimee and Ryan. I have 2 of my weddings featured in the magazine, and they look amazing. Im as proud as punch to see them in print. Now…..for looking forward to all the business its going to bring my way!!!!

Lily Turns 4

Where did 4 years go? Over the weekend I celebrated with my fairy 4 wonderful years, years spent bonding and creating a very special Mummy and Daughter relationship. Lily is one special girl who is adored by all her family and her peers. So what better way than to give her a fairy party with all her fairy friends. It was so cute watching all the little ones running around playing, and their eyes wide opened when I told them fairies had been here the night before and left treasures all around the yard! Happy Birthday to Lily. Mummy loves you to the moon……and back. x

Photo A Day : Day 20-22

Today was our family portrait session. Yes I DO have these done aswell. This year it was Naomi V from Brisbane that I had the pleasure of meeting and spend the afternoon with whilst she took photos of my family and me. Cant wait to see her shots.

Day 21. Hope wood Country Lodge. I have a wedding here next weekend and I wanted to check it out before hand. This place is AMAZING. I am SO excited about the wedding, french provincial furniture ( yes it is actually from France) gorgeous gardens, manicured hedges, classy, elegant, country.

Day 22. Precious Moments with Lily, 10am and we are still in our pyjama’s. She tells me there is a tea party on my bed. Just one of life’s little pleasures with my little girl.
