So here is my Body Of Work for 2011. I hope you enjoy, its always nice to go back and look at how much I have grown and remember all of the fun times I have had on location with awesome people. Thankyou again for being part of Skye Photography.

Then to the bride. As I arrived, Ria was still getting her makeup done by her friend and Napolean makeup artist Amy Wallace She was the total picture of calm, looking forward to experiencing this day she had planned so carefully for months. After a wonderful, heartfelt ceremony, our bridal shoot was on Sydney Harbour and then at Taronga Zoo.  I have to say it was pretty cool walking around Taronga when there was NO patrons, and seeing the baby Elephants was adorable.

Ria’s brother, Chris, did a stella job at being MC for the night, reminiscing about his and Ria’s New Zealand holiday which  had the crowd laughing and geed everyone up for the speeches. Jimmy’s best man speech, he read off his well organised laminated cards, told a story of friendship and good times. Bek and Suzie’s epic speech, whilst long, was very entertaining giving everyone an insight to Ria’s very distinguished palette, and her love of kraft singles put in the microwave, and ummmm….cheezles dipped in green cordial. And how can we forget the pink sunglasses that Ria stole from Bek, and somehow, Bek seemed to have stollen back in time for her speech.

Then surrounded by friends and family, they danced the night away on the dance floor. Thankyou Pete and Ria for allowing me to photograph your wedding and create your everlasting memories of your gorgeous day. Be sure to watch the slideshow at the end of the post.

The day was beautiful, and although it rained everyones spirits remained high. Our Bridal shoot really made me work hard getting enough shots done before the skies opened up again. Many of the guests were wet from head to toe, but they were all still laughing and smiling as they boarded the boat to spend the evening celebrating the marriage of Ben and Annabel.

Sally and Brett had put so much time, effort and themselves into this wedding. Sally quitting her job and spending her time with crafternoons which sometimes led to being an entire days event. She made it all. The invites. The order of service adorned with vintage spoons and forks and all so nicely cut with round edges. The bouquets, amazingly made from old sheet music. ALL of the table settings. If that wasnt enough she made her dress, and the most amazing gifts for her sisters which included handmade accessories.

On a Friday, under a random tree somewhere in regional Sydney, Brett married his best friend, hot water bottle and reason for always being late. He vowed to accept and live with her hippy tendencies and to be OCD with the way he hangs the washing up. Sally took her source of cuddles and bear hugs and promised not to derail their lifetime goals and always demand hugs and to always eat off Bretts plate. They sealed it with a kiss and Sally became a sidekick of team McCracken.

The speeches were heartfelt and just as the vows completely Sally and Brett. I felt the tears as Brett said to Sally “Your a dreamer and I want to dream with you.” Sally’s wonderful attitude towards life is completely infectious. Some of her mantra’s……Laugh till you snort. Dance like no one is watching and if they are – make it interesting. Its not a party unless its dress up!

It was an honour to be part of your wedding. Not only to experience your fantastic artistic flair and fun throughout the day and night. But to witness such a great love that I have never seen before. Not only between Sally and Brett, but their families and friends. What an absolutely BRILL bunch of people I got to spend the day with. Thankyou.

Through the speeches made later that night, her Mum gave a wonderful recount of how Caroline met Glen and she really brought the house down. Everyone in the room was filled with laughter. However, throughout the speech Glen sat nervously……now learning that Carol’s Mum had been doing toastmasters for years. Nervously, he began his speech looking few times down at the script he had written, when he threw caution to the wind and just went off the cuff, his guests were all splitting at the sides as he remembered a lawn mowing episode with Caroline’s father.

Caroline you were a stunning bride, and Glen a handsome groom. I hope you enjoy the memories I was able to capture for you on your special day.
