Their love for music brought them together one night, and they have been together ever since. At the perfect location for their DIY vintage inspired wedding Drew and Siobhan exchanged their vows in front of their closest family and friends at Gooligums. The scene was decorated together, blackboard signs, lanterns, cute cottage flowers in jam jars and the cake made by Siobhan’s Mum. The readings that were chosen were heartfelt, reminding the happy couple that the hands they held today will be the ones they hold throughout time. Their love and enjoyment of each other was clear to see as throughout the ceremony quirky little smiles and giggles were shared between them. There are SO many photos from this wedding that I LOVE and couldn’t wait to share, so part 2 will arrive in a few days!

Today Highlife Bride hit the stores donning my gorgeous wedding couple Jaimee and Ryan. I have 2 of my weddings featured in the magazine, and they look amazing. Im as proud as punch to see them in print. Now…..for looking forward to all the business its going to bring my way!!!!

Drew and Siobhan ENGAGED | Sydney and Southern Highlands Wedding Photographer

I have known Drew for many years, since school. Drew is also my very talented Graphic Designer, having created my new logo which I just adore! He and Siobhan have been together for years, and in a few months will be setting a stunning vintage scene for their friends and family to gather to witness them pledging their love for one and other. After my day with them, they seriously have to be the most relaxed couple there is. And they move together like clockwork, they have it nailed getting that boat an AND out of the water whilst we watched others struggle. We were SO lucky with the weather being able to get some shots on the shore line, and then into the boat. I have little boating experience. So my first Sydney Harbour experience I was armed with my camera (which I held onto VERY tightly and we sped along) and I wasnt sure whether to scream, shriek or hide under the dashboard. (if thats what its called??). Once we stopped, it seemed that buoyancy was to become my challenge for this part of the shoot, with the Harbour Bridge in the distance, it would disappear with the bobbing of the boat. And the bobbing wasnt doing wonders for the stomach either! The end result was some cool pics on the water, before getting rained out!!!!! Ryan and Jaimee | Southern Highlands Wedding Photographer

Their eyes locked 10 years ago at university. They fell in love in a matter of weeks. 2 weeks into the relationship Ryan declared his love for Jaimee. Feeling the same, but freaking out she wasn’t sure if she’d see him again as she didn’t say those allusive words back. However, she had a secret weapon. She had his soccer gear in her car, so he HAD to show up. The night he came over Jaimee greeted him with oregano stuck in her teeth and from this quirky moment on they have fallen more and more in love, and on the 29th January they stylishly shared their love for one and other with their family and friends.

The grounds for this wedding were beautiful. Stunning. So many gorgeous spots to take photos. It was so hard to fit so much in, but I am so happy with the results, and I can certainly say this would have to be my best work yet. Hopewood Country Lodge in Bowral, the perfect setting for a wedding, adorned with French furniture and hanging from the trees jam jars with gorgeous white flowers. All of the bridal party got ready at the venue, and all the girls including Jaimee’s gown made by a local dressmaker and all wearing Peep Toe Shoes. The service was beautiful as Ryan and Jaimee said their vows and had a few giggles as Ryan tried to get Jaimee’s ring on her finger.

We had fun taking photo’s around the venue. The reception was held in a renovated horse stable, where guests eagerly awaited the bridal couple. A little after dinner, I had completed my first same day slideshow. Watching it with one of the bridesmaids, I heard banging. The banging got louder with someone calling help. Ryan was stuck in the toilet. Of all people, the groom was missing in action locked in the toilet for at least half an hour. So Ryan had plenty of time to think, reflect and get that speech ready.

As soon as he was saved the speeches got under way and they were amazing. I have never seen such a response from people with speeches at a wedding. Heartfelt, about family and friendship and we learnt about Jaimee’s special moments with her sister and her love for Young Talent Time as the entire room sang All My Loving.

A Blessing to Kane and Diana | Sydney Wedding Photographer

The wonderful thing about traveling is that you meet new people. And sometimes the new people you meet become friends, and for some they become your other half. A bit over a year ago I was in town having a coffee when I saw Sharon and she so proudly introduced me to Diana, Kane’s girlfriend. My first impression. What a knockout, this girl is stunning. And from Canada. I dont have any memory of Kane having a girlfriend, he waited and waited, and well as they say the best things come to those who wait. So Kane followed his heart to Toronto, and this year he wed his beautiful Diana. As close friends and Family weren’t all able to travel OS, a few weeks ago a blessing was given to Kane and Diana by Father Whitty held at Kane’s parents. The day was perfectly planned, and we experienced all four seasons throughout the afternoon, ending with a gorgeous sunset.

Last weekend I finally got to meet this gorgeous couple. I have been communicating with Jaimee for months now via email so it was so good to finally put a face to the name! After a week of cool weather and rain, the sun emerged, and we had a steamy day in Bowral for their engagement shoot. We started off in a park with their dogs, which was fun, I forgot what its like with a massive dog that just wants to play. Then to an underpass where Jaimee and Ryan were a bit more relaxed infront of the camera. Here are some of my favourites from the day.

Pete and Ria Engaged | Sydney Wedding Photographer

Last weekend was time to celebrate the love between Pete and Ria. A wonderful evening with all of their closest family and friends where we toasted to their happiness forever. Match Made In Heaven | Sydney and Blue Mountains Engagement Photographer

I met Geoff about a year ago to do a shoot for him with his daughter Emily. Recently Geoff popped the question to his girlfriend, Chrissie, at his Church after a rehearsal. Phones were already out recording the rehearsal that was taking place as Geoff walked over to Chrissie taking a beautiful shiny white gold engagement ring out of his pocket. Within minutes the recording hit facebook, Chrissie frantically making sure her Mum found out from her and not through social media! In talking to Geoff about this shoot I gave him a few ideas about how we could style it up whilst also keeping it real and about who Chrissie and he are about. “Guitars and God”. So armed with a few supplies from my local vinnies, a fantastic old record player and two talented guitar players, our shoot in Leura amongst the blossoms has become one of my favourite shoots. Whilst listening to Chrissie simply humming, I was taken with her melodic voice and then found out she has a CD!!!! Geoff and Chrissie loved this location so much we are going back there on their wedding day.

Narelle And Terry | Sydney Wedding Photographer

Last Sunday the date was 10/10/10. The luckiest day this century. In numerology, 10 is the perfect number. It is also the number for Wisdom. The number 1 which appears 3 times in this date is all about focus, new direction, raw energy, rebirth. All of these words describe Narelle and Terry’s special day. From this day a new direction into a new life together. Through their vows they promised forever, with all the wisdom from their hearts.

Narelle and Terry met at school. They were high school sweethearts, and like many of us and our high school sweet heart, they went their different ways. Many years later they were to meet again, at their high school reunion. Both of them now single this night was to change their lives forever. As this was the night they began to fall in love all over again.

As luck would have it, after probably the wettest week we have seen in a while, the rain held off and Narelle was glowing as she walked down the aisle with her Son, who gave her away. Terry’s parents watched the ceremony with tears in their eyes. Terry himself could not look prouder nor happier as his bride approached him. The entire day was spent laughing and enjoying each others company. A “Blending of the Sands” was conducted to symbolise the blending of two families. During the speeches it was clear that both Terry and Narelle’s children were delighted about their union, and their grandsons speech even brought a tear to my eye.
