January 2nd. Another HOT day. My partner in crime (my Mum) went shopping without me today. But bought home a present for me, Powderfinger Sunsets DVD. So as I am blogging I am right now listening to My Happiness, a song that if you, as an Aussie within my age group dont know the words to, should be ashamed. What a wonderful band that I have listened to and seen live since I was 18. I have been a happy passenger of the finger! (pardon the pun) Anyhow onto to today’s photo. Lily. Of Course. How could I not use her as my inspiration today. And it was a fleeting moment when she decided to wear for the first time in a LONG time La La’s hat. I haven’t taken many photo’s of Lily recently so she was more than happy to pose it up. We will see how she feels at Day #31!!!!

I met Tammy at the Wedding Expo in Camden a few weeks ago, and instantly I knew that this girl had personality and I wanted to shoot her wedding. She hasn’t set a date for the wedding yet, but she booked me in for her engagement party. Last week in the new marquee at the Camden Valley Inn, Adrian and Tammy celebrated with all of their family and friends their engagement. We started off by having a quick shoot in the garden before everyone arrived, and Tammy was a total natural infront of the camera, rocking out the poses like a natural, infact she would be in the pose before I had finished explaining it. As I left the music had started to pump and the partying began….and didnt stop until the very early hours of the next day. Here are some of my favourites from the night. I met Geoff about a year ago to do a shoot for him with his daughter Emily. Recently Geoff popped the question to his girlfriend, Chrissie, at his Church after a rehearsal. Phones were already out recording the rehearsal that was taking place as Geoff walked over to Chrissie taking a beautiful shiny white gold engagement ring out of his pocket. Within minutes the recording hit facebook, Chrissie frantically making sure her Mum found out from her and not through social media! In talking to Geoff about this shoot I gave him a few ideas about how we could style it up whilst also keeping it real and about who Chrissie and he are about. “Guitars and God”. So armed with a few supplies from my local vinnies, a fantastic old record player and two talented guitar players, our shoot in Leura amongst the blossoms has become one of my favourite shoots. Whilst listening to Chrissie simply humming, I was taken with her melodic voice and then found out she has a CD!!!! Geoff and Chrissie loved this location so much we are going back there on their wedding day.

Food, Fun and Fotos | Sydney Child and Family Photographer

Spring has arrived. Flowers are blooming. Days are getting longer. Today I wanted a day out with Lily, and also had to find a location for an engagement shoot. Off to the Southern Highlands we went. We had a great lunch at Palette Pleasures, and I was good and shared it with Lily, and she ate her entire half!!!!! I have been looking for new bowls to serve Osso Bucco and Lamb Shanks in and I knew Id find them in Barbara’s Storehouse, along with a shelving unit that I wanted for the upcoming bridal expos. Then in the car to the park for some play and then scouting for locations. I found two I like. One looks like Monets bridge. We had a run around and Lily showed me her tree climbing skills. We watched the Ducks, and then we were chased by the ducks! The other a gritty underpass which I also loved. Then back into town to my favourite shop, Pratu, one of those shops you could just spend all afternoon in. Tops with my fav artists work on them and gorgeous ceramic tiles with Asian prints on them. This is one of my favourite places to go.

Today I had a wonderful time with this family. A & M have just welcomed Mr Charlie into the world. He was a delight. At 3 weeks he is certainly fitting into the busy household with his adoring brother and sister, not to mention Mum and Dad!!!! He wasn’t really into the photos being taken out in the lounge room with the family, so off to the bedroom for some settling and off he drifted. I had planned in my head and worked out how to get that shot I have wanted for so long of the baby with his chin in his hands, but this little man is so strong!!!! I tried moving those hands up under his face and the resistance was amazing. But you know what with how cute some of the shots are, Im not worried. He is just divine. Looking through todays shoot the words “So Cute” have been in full force!!! Its moments that I am able to get like this that make this job so rewarding. More of this little guy and his family to come…..

I have so many favourites from this session its hard to not load all of them! I love the family shots and how I have captured them interacting while I sat away, although little Miss A still curious as to where I was looking around for that lady that kept following her all afternoon. By the last few shots she was posing it up right in front of me, moving her head around like a professional! I hope you enjoy!

The last taste of summer | Sydney child photographer

This week the weather has been perfect for summer dresses, beach trips, and well ice cream! (not to mention the absolutely gorgeous cake I made and yes my waist line is feeling it) A wonderful day at the beach, a picnic by the lighthouse and a play in the park. Nothing tops a day out that I get the smiles like I did on this day from Lily. She loves the beach, she loves nature and picking up natural things at the beach with a wonder about the texture and “what’s that Mummy”. The beach on this day was probably our last trip for swimming, as after we get back from England it will surely be too cold to get in the water. So lots of splashing and swimming, laughing and giggling (especially when I stacked it in the water), and sleeping on the way home.

Out and about in Abbotsford, we were meant to have our photos here last year and as I am geographically challenged I got lost, Now I have a sat nav and off we went to find it. LOVE it here. Lily played for hours and I was able to sit and relax close by. A picnic and a splash then back in the car and we went to Balmain for ice cream. Lily told me on the way home “That was a beautiful day mummy” and then she crashed!

I spent the morning of this hot hot day at the beach for a client shoot. Once done I had a swim and then went and picked up Lily to take her for a swim. 46 degrees in Camden today!! So by the time we got home and unpacked, bathed and fed, Lily was asleep and I had no photo for today! So here she is the sleeping beauty.
